Urban Eagle Herb Company was started as a means of sharing the work and herbal blends developed by the late White Deer (Lee Nelson) and sold by his company, American Indian Herb Co. White Deer was a Caucasian orphan who was made a blood brother by the Sioux when he was 10 years old. White Deer spent his youth living and learning the ways of the Native peoples. When he was 21, he began five years of traveling and gathering herbs throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, and Central America. He met with the Medicine Men of many tribes and exchanged herbal knowledge.  He used that knowledge to develop our herb tea blends

When herbs are brought together in a formula, they enter into a unique relationship, much more than the sum of the separate ingredients. Herbs are also spiritual forces and care must be taken to create a harmonious blend in which the herbs unite to become one in purpose and spirit. Prayer and acknowledgment of these forces is an important part of our working with the herbs and are incorporated during all phases of the gathering, blending and aging processes.

    Why Loose Tea? The fresher the herbs, the higher the quality of the tea.  The larger the pieces of herbs, the less chance for oxidation and thus a more potent herb.  You should be able to see the individual herbs in a blend.  And while tea bags are definitely convenient, in order to get the herbs into the bags they must be cut into smaller pieces which makes them more unstable and the potency and freshness much less.

    Why Tins?  After much deliberation and research, tins were chosen as the most ecological form of packaging currently available to us.  They have many uses so please re-use or recycle.

    We at Urban Eagle Herb Co. are dedicated to providing you with the freshest, most potent herb tea blends possible.  The herbs that we grow are harvested, processed and stored with the utmost care.  Those herbs we cannot grow are purchased from reputable sources and are certified organic or responsibly wildcrafted when possible.

    Each herb and herb blend has specific nutritive and energetic qualities and we encourage you to gain a basic understanding of how herbs have been traditionally used to select the blend that is appropriate for you .    

    The Urban Eagle Herb Co. blends have been used clinically for years in many different ways.  These blends are composites from different tribes. Thousands of years of herbal knowledge have been brought together by White Deer in their formulation. They are harmonious and balanced and will help bring this harmony and balance to you and while we make no health, therapeutic, or nutritive claims, the empirical evidence of the ages speaks for itself.

    Store teas in a cool, dry place, out of direct light.  They are best if used within 6 to 8 months.
